Kevin Hoyt has joined Mason-McDuffie Mortgage

SAN RAMON-Continuing to accelerate its national expansion, Mason-McDuffie Mortgage CEO Marilyn Richardson announced that Kevin Hoyt has joined the mortgage banking firm as senior vice president, production.

Hoyt, most recently Western Regional vice president of the Real Estate Mortgage Network, is one of five senior vice presidents who each will lead a network of branches. He joins Jim Macke, Bill Simpson, Chuck Jackson and Mark Lynch in this senior vice president role. All are new to the firm in the last 12 months expect Simpson who was an original principal.

Hoyt, who has been based in San Diego for 25 years, plans to relocate to the Bay Area to work out of the home office in San Ramon. Prior to the Real Estate Mortgage Network, he served as a regional manager with Prime Lending and Executive Vice President with CTX Mortgage. He's run multi-state operations since the early 1980s.

He worked with AmeriStar Financial for 13 years and became president of the company. When Lennar Homes expanded to the West Coast, he opened all of its mortgage branches across the country.

He explained why he joined Mason-McDuffie, saying, "Herb (Tasker, chairman) and Marilyn are no. 1. Herb is a legend in the industry. The companies he's run always have had a great culture and the employees loved working there.

"The platform they have is great to grow and still keep the company culture."

Hoyt has been married for 36 years to his college sweetheart and they have three grown children.

In his spare time, he has been serving homeless people in the downtown San Diego area.
