Joe Stefani has been named to the Mason McDuffie's President's Club

MERCED-Mason-McDuffie Mortgage branch manager Joe Stefani has been named to the company's President's Club, recognizing his outstanding performance in 2011.

The honor, given to the top 10 percent of loan producers in the company, was Stefani's second major recognition in a month. The Merced Board of Realtors named him as their affiliate member of the year for his efforts.

Realtor Ernie Ochoa, who served as president of the Merced County Board of Realtors in 2011, said, "Joe helps us with our annual golf tournament as well as donating his services to prepare tailgate meals to auction off at our charity events."

"Joe's barbecues have gotten pretty popular," Ochoa said.

Proceeds from the golf tournament go into a fund to help first-time homebuyers with their down payments. Proceeds from the auctions go to help feed the hungry in Merced County through the Salvation Army and the county food bank.

Stefani joined Mason-McDuffie in December of 2005 to lead its Merced operations. Prior to joining the firm, he had managed branches for two other mortgage lenders.

He was born and raised in Merced and has lived most of his life here.

He actively contributes to the community, both through service organizations and volunteering as a youth sports coach.
